This qualification reflects the role of frontline retail team members who use a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities.

They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision of others. This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.

Individuals with this qualification will be able to perform roles such as frontline team member, customer service assistant and point-of-sale operator.

Career Pathways

Students graduating from this program will be able to enroll into Certificate III in Retail and Certificate IV in Retail Management and progress to the Diploma of Retail Management. Graduates may be able to secure employment in a supervisory, leadership or management position.


This program has approximately 132 nominal hours. Delivery is one day per week over 24 weeks. Intakes are at the commencement of each semester.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements to this qualification, although, it is suggested that students should have an acceptable level of year 10 attainment.

  • Each individual unit fee is; $72.00 per unit

Enrolment fees can be paid as an entire of qualification lump sum.

Students who study this qualification over a longer period of time can pay by each unit upon enrolment as defined in their Student Training Plan.
